Nam debuted in 2013 as a model for the SONGZIO Homme Spring/Summer 2014 collection. In 2014, he appeared in the music videos of fellow YG Entertainment artist Akdong Musician, and made his acting debut with a supporting role in the tvN drama The Idle Mermaid.
In 2015, Nam gained attention with his appearance in teen drama Who Are You: School 2015.
